Director, Foundation Relations

Responsibilities
Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and closing of $3M-$5M+ worth of gifts and grants annually
Work with Assistant Vice President, high-level management, physicians, researchers, trustees, volunteer leadership, and staff to develop and write proposals for specific research, programmatic, and capital funding needs and to manage overall foundation solicitation efforts and strategy for assigned areas
Work with colleagues within the Jimmy Fund, Corporate Partnerships, Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Principal Gifts, and Transformational Giving teams to build, manage, and sustain a major gifts program
Meet quarterly and annual fundraising goals as determined by Vice President of Community, Institutional & Annual Giving and Assistant Vice President, Foundation Relations
Represent Dana-Farber at off-site presentations and meetings
Travel as appropriate to meet with prospects and volunteers
Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency required
8+ years' relevant work experience
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and managerial capabilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Public speaking experience and effectiveness
Must exercise significant judgment and discretion in working with prospects and Institute staff
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Foundation experience preferred
