Accounting Technician 7-E9 - Financial Gaming Services
The State of Michigan is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join the Michigan State Lottery team. This role involves supporting accounts receivable collections for Lottery retailers, maintaining EFT files, and assisting with prize claims processing.

Responsibilities
Provides support and assists with weekly accounts receivable collections for approximately 11,000 Lottery retailers
Handles Lottery retailer final settlements and status change settlements calculations
Establishes and maintains retailer payment plans
Prepares retailer invoice adjustments and monitors receivables as they age
Collects, updates and maintains Lottery retailer Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) files
Provides support for collection, maintenance, and reconciliation of Charitable Gaming accounts receivables
Daily review and system maintenance of Lottery cash receipts
Acts as a primary back-up for credit reviews
Assists with the processing of prize and pending prize claims
Qualification
Required
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school
One year of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements equivalent to an Accounting Assistant E7
Two years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Technician 7 or an Accounting Assistant 8
Three years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Technician 8, two years equivalent to an Accounting Technician 7, or one year equivalent to an Office Supervisor with a subclass code of BKPS
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement
To be considered for this position, you must submit to the following initial background check requirement(s)
In accordance with Civil Service Regulation 2.07, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, permanently or up to (3) three years, should you fail to pass/submit to the pre-employment drug test
Under Civil Service Regulation 3.06, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, if you make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process
Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
This urine sample test must be administered within 24 hours, or your offer may be rescinded
An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen
It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time
Positions within the Bureau of State Lottery will require a criminal history background check
