Martin City Marketing is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to join their Paid Media team, focusing on driving engagement and revenue through strategic email marketing. Responsibilities

Plan, build, and deploy email campaigns across promotional, lifecycle, and transactional use cases
Translate client goals and broader marketing strategies into effective email executions
Ensure campaigns are accurate, on schedule, compliant, and aligned with approved messaging and strategy
Build and manage emails including copy, layout, imagery, links, and CTAs
Collaborate with Creative and Design teams to ensure brand consistency and strong visual execution
Apply working HTML/CSS knowledge to troubleshoot formatting, rendering, and deliverability issues
Own day-to-day execution within SendGrid, our primary email marketing platform
Build, schedule, and deploy campaigns using SendGrid templates, dynamic fields, and segmentation
Manage contact lists, suppressions, and audience logic to support deliverability and performance
Use SendGrid engagement and performance data to inform optimization decisions and support direct mail audience strategy
Own and maintain the technical foundation required for strong email deliverability across client accounts
Audit and validate domain authentication settings, including proper configuration of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
Manage technical onboarding for new clients, including domain claiming, sender authentication, and sending infrastructure setup within SendGrid and other ESPs
Perform routine audits of MX records and DNS configurations to prevent delivery failures and protect sender reputation
Investigate and resolve deliverability issues such as high bounce rates, spam-folder placement, phishing or spoofing errors, and authentication failures
Monitor sender reputation and domain health using tools such as Google Postmaster and ESP-level reporting
Proactively identify risks to deliverability and recommend corrective actions before performance or reputation is impacted
Manage audience segmentation based on demographics, behaviors, lifecycle stage, and engagement history
Maintain clean, compliant, and well-organized lists to protect deliverability
Ensure all email activity complies with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and applicable regulations
Execute A/B tests on subject lines, content, layouts, send times, and CTAs
Monitor performance metrics including open rate, CTR, conversion rate, and ROI
Use data to recommend improvements and refine future campaigns
Partner closely with Account teams to align email campaigns with client goals, promotions, and timelines
Coordinate with Paid Media and Organic Media teams to ensure email supports broader channel strategy
Communicate proactively when approvals, data, or timelines may impact delivery
Stay current on email marketing best practices, deliverability trends, and platform updates
Identify opportunities to improve processes, templates, documentation, and performance standards
Leverage first-party data (CRM records, website behavior, lead activity, email engagement, customer lifecycle data) to build targeted, performance-driven email audiences
Work with third-party data sources to enhance audience depth, improve targeting accuracy, and support multi-channel activation
Manipulate, normalize, and segment datasets to create actionable audiences based on intent, engagement, ownership status, lifecycle stage, and recency
Translate email engagement and behavioral data into direct mail targeting strategies, including suppression logic, priority tiers, and retargeting segments
Collaborate with Paid Media, Account, and Data teams to ensure audiences are consistently applied across email, direct mail, and other paid channels
Maintain strong data hygiene standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability across platforms
Identify opportunities to improve segmentation frameworks, audience definitions, and downstream activation efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
2+ years of hands-on email marketing experience, preferably in an agency or multi-client environment
Direct experience with SendGrid is required
Strong understanding of email performance metrics and reporting
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email (advanced development not required)
Comfort working with DNS records and authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX)
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Clear communicator who works well cross-functionally

Preferred

Automotive or powersports marketing experience is a plus, but not required
