Responsibilities
Analyzes each credit balance to determine root cause and establishes a plan of action
Takes action on all payer and patient refund requests
Posts the appropriate adjustments to correct any errors that were created during receipt and adjustment posting to resolve the credit balance
Ensures appropriate documentation of refunds recorded on individual accounts
Completes refund requests for patient and payers when overpayments occur within the timeline established by accounts payable and according to month end guidelines
Coordinates the supporting documentation required to accompany the refund
Responds to customer service inquiries related to refund requests
Assists with month-end posting of payments when directed
Performs other duties as assigned
