Responsibilities
Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day architectural activity on medium to large sized complex projects that require very major architectural engineering efforts, or may be assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit that require very major architectural effort, or may be assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit
Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules, and assigns work accordingly
Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements
Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly
Maintains contact with other disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project(s) and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements
Reviews and makes recommendations of the architectural aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering
When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of architectural aspects of the work
Reviews and approves key calculations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned
Ensures that assigned architectural personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development
Prepares project designs and plans using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land FX, Sketchup, Photoshop, and other design and 3D modeling software
Qualification
Required
Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) in Architecture and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
In-depth understanding of Architectural systems, building materials and building codes
In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws
Have a general knowledge of all other aspects of building construction including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, Landscaping, Life Safety Systems, Telecommunications, etc
Experience leading Architectural teams to deliver large scale projects
Knowledge of Data Center building types or Industrial or Semiconductor projects occupancies, and broad familiarity with other engineering disciplines
Knowledge of LEED certification processes and sustainable design principles
Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and compliance procedures
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities management, and operations
A professional architectural license is required
Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks
Preferred
Preferred experience with design, construction, and commissioning activities, and a thorough understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects
