Senior IT Systems Engineer – Microsoft 365

Xtensys is a managed service provider focused on delivering technology to health systems. The Senior IT Systems Engineer – Microsoft 365 will architect, design, implement, and support the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring secure and efficient collaboration tools for teams and customers.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online / On-Prem, O/M365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Intune
Provide Tier 3/4 support for Microsoft 365–related incidents and service requests
Knowledge Creation and train peer IT service-related teams
Monitor system health, performance, and security compliance
Recommend, Implement, and Maintain Filtering tools (Intune and Proofpoint, ETC) everything else looks great
Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 applications and services across multiple tenants
Implement policies for email retention, data loss prevention (DLP), and compliance
Configure Microsoft Teams collaboration, guest access, and multi-tenant federation
Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to enforce retention policies and legal holds
Implement conditional access, MFA, and endpoint security policies
Ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational governance
Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and user guides
Partner with IT, Facilities, and business units to validate functionality and adoption
Train and support eService Desk teams and end users on collaboration tools and best practices
Stay current with the Microsoft 365 roadmap and emerging technologies
Recommend enhancements to improve productivity, security, and user experience
Participate in projects integrating Microsoft 365 with other enterprise systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience architecting, administering, and supporting Microsoft 365 environments
Strong hands-on knowledge of Exchange (On-Prem and Online), Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune
Experience with Azure Active Directory, conditional access, and security policies
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred

Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent certification
Experience supporting multi-tenant environments, MTO, and guest access configurations
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, and SOX
Experience with endpoint management and mobile device management (MDM)
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred
Microsoft 365 certifications strongly preferred
