InternScot Forge Company is looking to hire an IT Software Development / Data Science Intern for the Summer of 2026. The internship will provide a variety of experiences in data science, software development, and business systems analytics while supporting the IT team in their daily tasks and projects.

Responsibilities
Develop clean, efficient, and documented code for existing and new software applications; design and implement back-end and front-end systems using modern languages and frameworks; write unit, integration, and functional tests to validate code quality
Pre-process source data into usable, high-quality datasets; conduct exploratory data analysis to visualize datasets; apply statistical techniques to evaluate relationships and interpret data; develop, train, and evaluate predictive models
Translate user requirements into technical and functional requirements; generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business stakeholders; contribute to the design of software enhancements or changes; create detailed documentation of existing and new business processes
Qualification
Required
Minimum Sophomore standing in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Systems, or related field
Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility in software development, data science and other related initiatives
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today
Preferred
Any IT certifications (CompTIA A+, AWS or Azure, etc.) are desirable but not required
Working knowledge of one or more programming languages
Understanding of software development principles and practices
Experience with database systems, concepts, and operations
Knowledge of the data science process
Understanding of fundamental networking, operating systems, and hardware concepts
Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
