The City of St. Cloud is seeking a temporary employee or intern to work with the Public Services Section. This position will assist with construction inspection and staking of City projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and engineering technicians.

Responsibilities

Assisting in conducting inspections of engineering projects to ensure compliance with design, construction, and standards
Assisting in preparing and maintaining inspection reports and records
Participate in field surveys, staking, and studies to collect data for engineering projects
Assisting in monitoring construction projects to ensure project design specifications are met
Participate in project and construction meetings
Learning and applying engineering principles and practices
Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on projects
Other projects in the Public Services Section, as assigned

Qualification

MnDOT StandardsCivil EngineeringLand SurveyingVerbal CommunicationWritten Communication

Required

excellent verbal and written skills
knowledge of MnDOT Standards and Specifications
ability to work well independently and as part of a team
ability to learn new information quickly
valid driver's license

Preferred

students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying
