Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Advocate Financial Life & Health Brokerage is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead the development and execution of sales, marketing, and distribution strategies. This senior leadership role focuses on scaling agent recruitment and optimizing operations to support national growth, requiring a builder mindset to architect sustainable growth systems.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Ensure tight alignment between sales and marketing efforts to drive agent recruitment, revenue growth, and brand development
Establish clear KPIs, dashboards, and accountability structures to measure performance and outcomes
Rebuild, optimize, and evolve the company’s Distribution Engine and Growth Engine to support national scale
Design scalable systems for agent recruiting, onboarding, activation, performance, and retention
Architect processes and infrastructure that enable sustained, high-output growth
Lead national inbound and outbound sales operations, including high-volume call center environments
Scale commission-only, distributed sales workforces from small to mid-size and large teams
Improve sales productivity, conversion rates, and agent lifecycle value
Establish performance metrics and continuous improvement processes across sales operations
Oversee brand strategy, demand generation, and go-to-market execution
Align marketing initiatives directly with sales outcomes and distribution goals
Build scalable lead-generation pipelines for both agent recruitment and consumer demand
Ensure marketing operations scale efficiently alongside sales growth
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing sales and marketing leadership teams
Foster a high-performance, positive, results-driven culture
Lead effectively through ambiguity, rapid growth, and continuous change
Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams
Oversee Agency Builder program and initiatives
Identify and execute new revenue-generating opportunities and market expansion strategies
Manage and strengthen key carrier relationships, including contract execution and override negotiations
Ensure alignment with compliance, regulatory, and carrier standards
Monitor, analyze, and report on sales and marketing performance using data-driven insights
Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and carrier expectations
Collaborate closely with Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Leadership to ensure sustainable growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent leadership experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Proven Outbound Sales and/or Marketing Call Center Leadership experience
Experience leading national, independent, commission-only, high-volume, distributed sales representative workforces
Demonstrated success scaling phone-based marketing and sales teams from small teams to medium or large organizations
Strong ability to build systems, processes, and infrastructure from primitive environments or from scratch
Proven effectiveness operating in fast-paced, continuously changing growth environments
Track record of driving performance, accountability, and results across sales and marketing functions
Preferred
Insurance and/or financial services industry background
Experience working within:
Field Marketing Organizations (FMOs)
Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs)
Commission-only agencies or mass marketing organizations
Multi-level marketing (MLM) or similar distributed sales models
