Responsibilities
Product Validation: "Stress test" AI-driven design tools by running them against complex, real-world scenarios to ensure they meet professional engineering standards
Reference Design: Create high-fidelity "benchmark" designs in Civil 3D (site, water, infrastructure) that serve as the "ground truth" for training and measuring AI performance
Workflow Architecture: Partner with software engineers to map out every step of the design process, identifying bottlenecks where automation can replace manual drafting
Technical Guidance: Serve as the internal authority on civil engineering codes, constructability, and submittal requirements for the product team
Iteration: Rapidly prototype design solutions to tighten the feedback loop between engineering needs and software capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
7+ years of experience in civil site design, water/wastewater, or transportation infrastructure
Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D is mandatory
Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling (HEC-RAS, StormCAD, SWMM) is highly valued
A 'product' mindset. you are critical of how tools work today and have strong opinions on how they should work
Ability to articulate why a design decision was made to non-engineers (developers/founders)
