Responsibilities
Gather and document Back Office business requirements for the ETRM implementation (workshops, process mapping, gap analysis)
Translate operational workflows into functional specifications, user stories, and test scenarios
Define the target operating model for Back Office in the ETRM: controls, reconciliation points, and handoffs with FO/MO
Own and support requirements across core Back Office components including:
Trade confirmations (physical & financial)
Netting & settlement workflows (cash settlement, commodity settlement)
Scheduling & logistics readiness (as applicable depending on commodity)
Invoicing & billing (including fees, premiums, adjustments)
Payments & cash application
Inventory movements / title transfers (if in scope)
Claims & disputes management
Reconciliations (positions, cash, inventory, fees, broker statements)
Accounting integration (GL mapping, accruals, realized/unrealized, month-end close readiness)
Reporting for Operations / Finance
Support exchange-traded derivatives workflows and ensure accurate processing for:
ICE (Intercontinental Exchange)
CME Group (CME / NYMEX / COMEX as relevant)
Other clearing venues / brokers / clearing members where applicable
Define and validate functional flows for:
Clearing & give-up agreements
Margin & collateral impacts (interfaces / reporting)
Broker statements processing & reconciliation
Fees (exchange fees, clearing fees, broker commissions)
Trade lifecycle events (amendments, allocations, expiries, exercises)
Work with IT and integration teams on connectivity with critical upstream/downstream systems:
Trade capture feeds / confirmations platforms
Pricing and market data sources
Settlement & payment platforms
Accounting / ERP systems
Document management tools
Data warehouses / reporting solutions
Validate mapping rules and exception handling for operational stability
Qualification
Required
Strong experience as a Business Analyst on ETRM/CTRM implementations, with a clear focus on Back Office workflows
Solid understanding of commodities trading operations and post-trade lifecycle
Proven exposure to exchange-traded derivatives processing (ICE, CME, brokers/clearing)
Strong experience writing functional specifications, process flows, and test cases
Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
Preferred
Hands-on ETRM exposure (Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Triplepoint, Eka, Aspect, etc.)
Knowledge of physical commodities operations (power/gas scheduling, pipeline, storage, nominations) depending on product scope
Understanding of accounting concepts: accruals, realized vs unrealized P&L, GL mapping, close cycles
SQL /U in certain contexts / data analysis skills
