Managing Director, Wealth Management Regional Leadership - Market

Responsibilities
Oversees all aspects of Wealth Management relationship management and the business development families in a market. Will oversee local market leadership, portfolio managers, Team Leaders, Client Strategists and Bankers
The Market President II will provide input in the determination of the regions overall strategic plan and will lead the translation and implementation of that plan into the local market strategy to increase market share and profitability
The Market President II will partner with Wealth Management Senior Leadership to assist in developing programs that maximize performance consistent with client objectives. The individual will also be required to develop and implement a growth strategy and work in close partnership with peers and key partners in executing on that strategy
The Market President II should have a strong business/community profile and a strong network within the UHNW community. Develops and implements the strategy for the market(s). Owns the business development pipeline and management for different markets. Participates in the development of region-wide strategy. Ensures that business development strategy supports region and Wealth Management-wide strategic goals and objectives. Sets the standards for dealing with unprecedented, complex or intricate issues regarding prospect needs, deal structure, negotiations, priorities, compliance, regulations, etc. Establishes guiding principles or standard operating procedures to ensure consistency of approach across the family
Reviews and approves deal structure ensuring optimal terms for both the client and the firm and mitigating risk where necessary. Ensures deals are compliant with all regulations
Ensures staff have access to the right firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure the most appropriate response to prospect proposals and deal structure. Focuses on business development results for the function by driving a culture of data driven analysis
May work with other firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure client needs are being addressed and client engagement is sustained, sharing client and business knowledge across the firm. Serves as an escalation point for critical service issues or roadblocks; shepherds issues through to resolution. Serves as the interface for compliance, regulatory, reputational matters between clients and the Bank
Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Continually coaches and monitors skill development of the team, ensuring that team members have access to and take advantage of formal and informal training opportunities, foster mentorships, etc. Actively sources for key roles and identifies candidates with existing relationships that would complement market growth
Manages multiple teams within Business Development and portfolio management within a market or across multiple markets. Work is accomplished through subordinate managers. Teams are geographically dispersed with multiple reporting lines, adding to complexity of oversight
Responsible for revenue goals within a market or multiple markets. Responsible for achieving organic incremental growth through new client acquisition and existing clients. Ensures team is equipped to operationalize and attain region objectives and defines appropriate financial and human resource allocation. In some markets, may serve as the primary interface for jurisdictional/ regulatory matters and may have entity governance responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Typically requires 15+ years of total work experience
Strong business/community profile and a strong network within the UHNW community
Experience in overseeing all aspects of Wealth Management relationship management and business development
Ability to develop and implement a growth strategy
Experience in managing multiple teams within Business Development and portfolio management
Responsible for revenue goals within a market or multiple markets
Experience in ensuring compliance with regulations
Preferred
Advanced/graduate degree preferred
5-7 years of management experience preferred, preferably in Business Development or a client-facing role
