Assistant Director of Operations
The National Ramah Commission operates Camp Ramah in Wisconsin and Ramah Day Camp, providing transformative experiences for Jewish children. The Assistant Director of Operations supports the Director of Operations in managing day-to-day operations, enrollment systems, and family communications to ensure a smooth camp experience throughout the year.

Responsibilities
Partner with the Director of Operations to advance cross-organizational operational priorities
Own discrete operational projects related to systems, finance, data/reporting, and process improvement
Evaluate existing workflows and implement improvements in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Develop working expertise in core systems including CampMinder, Salesforce, and QuickBooks
Serve as a primary point of contact for camper families, delivering responsive, clear, and compassionate support
Manage incoming phone, email, and web inquiries, resolving issues directly when possible and routing appropriately when needed
Support camper enrollment and retention efforts, including outreach to returning families and coordination of new inquiries
Manage enrollment data, applications, and reporting to ensure accuracy and readiness year-round
Guide families through enrollment systems, forms, financial aid, billing, and camp preparation
Serve as a customer-facing liaison for billing questions and payment support
Manage monthly billing processes and family payments with attention to clarity, confidentiality, and follow-through
Support camper financial aid administration and coordination
Assist with audits, reconciliations, deposits, and summer payroll administration as needed
Lead camper and staff travel logistics for overnight camp and support day camp transportation needs
Communicate travel plans and expectations clearly to families
Serve as a year-round team representative at Chicago-area bus stops and airports during the summer
Support on-site summer operations in coordination with senior staff
Support Ramah Day Camp with operational and summer office needs
Collaborate with year round team members on special projects as they arise
Take on additional responsibilities assigned by direct supervisor
Qualification
Required
Interest in operations, systems and organizational infrastructure
Comfort managing both day-to-day execution and long-term projects
Talent for developing relationships and putting people at ease
Considerate and respectful of others at all times
Outstanding organizational and executive functioning skills
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a team
Must be able to work in a demanding environment and be able to quickly adjust to changing conditions
