Responsibilities
The duties of the Section broadly fall into the following areas: 1) the development of quality-assured gridded emission inventories for air quality modeling; 2) coordination with other sections and air quality districts on the development of emission targets for attainment plans; and 3) development of metrics and procedures to assess the emission inventories and input parameters for meteorological and air quality models
The selected candidate will be expected to utilize, write, and/or update protocols, procedures, and run software such as the Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions (SMOKE) model to create emission inputs to air quality models
Qualification
Required
Expertise in emission inventory preparation
Experience with air quality modeling
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control of large datasets
Engineering knowledge of emission source testing and associated laboratory analysis procedures
Ability to utilize, write, and/or update protocols and procedures
Experience running software such as the Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions (SMOKE) model
Completion of a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) for this recruitment
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
