Senior Product Manager - Content Serving & Extensibility

The Media Platform’s Content Management & Serving group is seeking a visionary and technical Senior Product Manager to own the strategy and execution for Yahoo’s core content serving and publishing platform’s feature extensibility.

Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Content Serving & Extensibility, aligning with the Media Platform's technical vision and business impact goals
Drive the growth and improvement of core content infrastructure products, with a primary focus on the Lightyear CMS Network API (GraphQL) and the Nexus Content Gateway (Apollo GraphQL) used for serving news content, live sports stats, finance data, weather forecasts, and commerce products across Yahoo's properties
Architect and drive extensibility across Lightyear CMS and the Content Gateway, including developing models for formal extensions to foster vertical team ownership, velocity, and support of their components
Lead the initiative to enhance Content Management & Serving's collaboration model with distributed teams, including establishing best practices, creating world-class documentation, and fostering internal adoption
Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and other product teams to ensure the Content Gateway and Network API meet performance, reliability, and security standards at massive scale
Define and track KPIs around API performance, developer satisfaction, adoption of extensibility models, and time-to-market for vertical teams
Champion a product-led approach to developer tooling and relations for content product teams
Qualification
Required
5+ years of Product Management experience in platform, developer tools, or large-scale content infrastructure, with a preference for publishing industry experience
Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and managing APIs (especially GraphQL or REST) as a core product for internal and/or external developers
Strong understanding of content management systems (CMS) and content delivery networks (CDN) within a high-volume media or e-commerce environment
Proven experience developing platform collaboration strategies, including improving documentation, internal engagement, adoption, and contribution models
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical detail and strategic vision for varied audiences, from engineers to executive leadership
A strong bias for action and a proven ability to align cross-functional teams (engineering, design, operations) toward bold and measurable goals
Preferred
Familiarity with concepts of microservices or component-based architectures
Experience in defining extensibility models (e.g., plugin architectures, webhooks, extension points) to support a broad ecosystem of developers
Familiarity with product management AI skills, such as rapid high-fidelity prototyping, scaffolding documentation, establishing automated workflows, and conducting business analysis
Well-grounded in data analysis for platform health, as well as KPIs related to audience engagement and advertising revenue
Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and real-time data serving
