Responsibilities
Lead and manage the billing team to ensure timely and accurate completion of weekly billing
Provide weekly reporting on billing activities, including unbilled transactions, pending items, and budget comparisons
Facilitate weekly meetings with regional contacts to ensure timely billing submissions and approvals
Establish, document, and enforce billing procedures to support internal and external audits
Recruit, train, and manage billing staff, ensuring clear communication of expectations and performance standards
Maintain high-quality service by enforcing standards, resolving issues, and recommending process improvements
Lead or support special projects as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing billing teams, preferably in power or construction-related industries
Proven experience overseeing billing groups and working with unit-based billing types, including renegotiated pricing standards
Strong understanding of internal controls and checks and balances within billing processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software (Microsoft Great Plains/Solomon preferred)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong time management and organizational skills
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Familiarity with office equipment such as copiers and scanners
