Responsibilities
Design, deploy, manage, maintain and document data pipeline solutions and ETL/ELT processes within a comprehensive data platform and resolve performance issues, failures, or bottlenecks
Support the organization in planning and defining requirements, then design, develop, test, document, and maintain the organization’s data warehouses with appropriate version control best practices
Implement large data integration solutions between systems, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer
Optimize data storage, processing and retrieval using cloud-based systems while implementing best practices for performance and scalability
Implement data security measures to protect sensitive healthcare information stored in cloud hosted data warehousing solutions, including encryption, access controls, and data masking techniques
Stay informed about emerging trends and provide technical expertise, documentation, and guidance to stakeholders on the latest in data engineering best practices
Contribute towards thought leadership in data governance, master data management, data mining, data warehousing, data modeling and analytics
Support the development, specification and communication of a data management plan, and the infrastructure components required to support it
Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment

Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings and participate in agency committees and task force activities as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in data engineering or a related technical role. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Epic Certification: Cogito 170
Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex documents
Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos
Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external clients
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction
Constructive thinking and alternative short-to long-term solutions must be considered
Action plans must be developed and implemented
Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start
All new employees are also required to show proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, annual Influenza and TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer
Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required
Hepatitis B is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products
All immunizations are a condition of employment
Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment

Familiarity with modern data engineering tools, ETL/ELT frameworks, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) preferred
