Patient Collection Specialist

The Patient Collection Specialist will oversee patient collections initiatives, ensuring timely and compliant resolution of outstanding patient balances while collaborating with various teams to enhance collection rates.

Responsibilities
Oversee and execute patient collection initiatives
Monitor outbound patient outreach campaigns (phone, email, text) to resolve outstanding balances aligned with company strategy
Coordinate with external collection agencies and offshore patient collection team, including account uploads and resolution of daily issues
Track and analyze accounts receivable aging to identify and act on high-priority accounts
Document all patient interactions and collection efforts in our system of record to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
Collaborate across billing, AR, and customer support teams to resolve discrepancies, update patient info, and enhance collection rates
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in patient collections, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a professional, empathetic approach
Working knowledge of insurance billing, patient responsibility balances, and HIPAA compliance
Proficiency with billing/collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple accounts simultaneously, and meet defined collection goals
