Responsibilities

Report to the Division Office Leadership and provide managerial and operational oversight as well as technical leadership to the Group
Work with the Deputy Group Leader to coordinate the efforts of project leaders, team leaders, and staff to maintain and improve capabilities, work quality, and maintain cost and technical effectiveness
Provide leadership in integrating and executing work within the division and in strategic workforce development, succession planning, recruiting, retention, and advancing diversity of employees
Foster teams in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and effectively identify and address personnel issues, and support the Division in addressing security, ES&H, and conduct of operations
Maintain a close working relationship with program managers, project leaders, and sponsors with a focus on programmatic execution and strategic business development, including collaborating in the development of white papers, responding to proposal calls, and pursuing LDRD and other funding opportunities

Required

Demonstrated management and leadership in technical organizations
Expert-level knowledge of and demonstrated consultative experience in one or more core A-2 areas-foreign nuclear weapon design, nuclear security, nuclear terrorism, nonproliferation, analytic tradecraft, or secure data systems
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project management of technical or operational work, including defining work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk
Demonstrated record in developing collaborations, promoting teamwork, building consensus, and communicating effectively with staff, sponsors, and stakeholders preferably related to A-2's core work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills when working with internal and external customers
Active Q/SCI Clearance
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

An advanced degree (beyond a bachelor's degree) from an accredited institution
Demonstrated working knowledge of the U.S. nuclear deterrent
An ability to articulate and translate deeply technical and scientific concepts to a non-technical audience or readership
Conceptual understanding of analytic tradecraft as implemented in the U.S. intelligence community, or equivalent critical thinking experience
Applied knowledge of LANL business systems; operational and work processes; administrative and financial practices and procedures, including HR processes for personnel issues; and key Laboratory points of contact
Experience working in and/or being responsible for SCIF, SAPF, and VTR operations and compliance
