Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of technical and administrative duties in support of the Alaska State Troopers for C Detachment's Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region
Provide support for the Bethel post and the C Detachment Deputy Commander in the areas of payroll, procurement, finance, human resources, case management, and judicial services
Learn a variety of skills and a broad working knowledge of the Division of Alaska State Troopers that will prepare you for many promotional opportunities

Required

Six months of advanced clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer
Six months of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)
Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professional and friendly communication while handling a wide range of situations and demographics
Strong written, verbal, and detail-oriented communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information
Attention to detail while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment to ensure accurately entering data into multiple systems, reviewing documents, processing and routing court paperwork and handling payments
Experience and skill with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
Time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities from several sources while working independently with minimal supervision
This position requires the use or possession of a firearm or ammunition. In accordance with the federal Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997 (PL 104-208), if you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, you may not hold this position
This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check
The successful candidate will be required to read, understand, and agree to via signature, an agreement of confidentiality concerning the work commonly encountered within the Department of Public Safety to qualify for this position
