Director of Human Resources
Montgomery County Food Bank is hiring a Director of Human Resources to join their growing organization. This role provides strategic HR leadership, ensuring alignment with MCFB’s mission, while managing day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, and compliance.

Responsibilities
Partner with the executive leadership team to align HR strategies with the organization’s mission, goals, and operational needs
Develop, execute, and sustain change management initiatives that align with MCFB and CEO objectives and strategies
Serve as a culture champion. Design and lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
Lead wellness committees, programs, and initiatives to enhance employee experience
Address employee concerns and work with HR team to mediate workplace conflicts. Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies across the organization
Conduct investigations and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies
Respond to TWC, EEOC, and workers’ compensation inquiries. Serve as the secondary contact for workers’ compensation claims
Lead FMLA, STD and ADA cases in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as MCFB’s processes, policies, and procedures in accordance with our benefits plans
Partner with the executive leadership team to forecast workforce needs, assess talent gaps, and develop succession plans
Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, interviews, and selection
Lead onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires
Lead and support performance appraisal processes
Build and implement leadership development programs to support internal growth and readiness
Strengthen relationships across departments to ensure HR supports cross-functional collaboration. Provide coaching and support to managers and supervisors on leadership effectiveness
Responsible for administration of compensation, payroll, and benefits for the entire organization
Conduct salary reviews and manage compensation structures
Participate in annual evaluation of all benefits vendors/contractors
Primary liaison between PEO and MCFB
Oversee maintenance and ensure accuracy of employee records and HRIS systems
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures
Use data and HR metrics to inform decision-making, strategy, and improve practices
Manage confidential information in various situations and levels
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2–3 years in compensation, payroll, and benefits administration
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Impeccable integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, HRIS, and payroll systems
In-depth knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
Strong organizational, communication, and people skills
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Valid Texas Driver's License
Dependable transportation
Preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification is highly preferred
