Rural Business Development Manager

The Rural Business Development Manager will lead initiatives to grow existing rural businesses and attract new ones, serving as a trusted partner in addressing operational challenges and enhancing business retention. This role involves marketing programs and strategic initiatives to support the rural sector, requiring in-person office attendance and participation in trade events.
Responsibilities
Spearhead efforts to grow existing rural businesses and attract new ones to Loudoun, Virginia
Position yourself as a trusted partner with concrete solutions for businesses exploring expansion of their operations
Enhance business retention and attraction for Loudoun through marketing programs and strategic initiative solutions
Attend a variety of trade sector organization meetings and events after hours
Travel one to two times per year as part of business development initiatives to recruit companies in Loudoun’s targeted industries
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Studies, International Economic Development, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field
three (3) years of related work experience preferably in project management
equivalent combination of education and experience
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, credit check and DMV driving record check
Early morning, evening and/or weekend work as needed
Hybrid schedule of 4-5 days in the office
Preferred
International Economic Development Council's (IEDC's) Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification
