Continuous Improvement Intern
Chromalloy Corporation is a global engineering & solutions company specializing in aftermarket parts and repairs for aircraft engines and gas turbines. The Continuous Improvement Intern will work closely with teams to implement process improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement using lean and six sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities
Work with CI, area supervisors, team leaders and operators to implement one piece flow
Create standard work for all operations within the cells, partner with Additive manufacturing to design fixtures as needed in each department
Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision
Coaching and reviewing the work of production employees working on process improvements
Coordinates mapping of value streams in order to develop improvement targets
Directs continual improvement team efforts
Facilitates team meetings and kaizen events
Support and positively drives 5S improvements
Inspires a culture of change and improvement
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a degree in organizational leadership, development, Business administration, Lean manufacturing or industrial engineering
Must be in Junior or Senior year of your degree
Strong communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point
Ability to manage and interact effectively with diverse groups and personalities
Highly motivated and self-directed individuals
Works closely with employees to drive a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving utilizing the lean and six sigma tools and methodologies
Aide manager in positively leads change and improvement towards strategic objectives through facilitation and training of teams and individuals
Monitors teams' progress and supports as necessary
Coordinates mapping of value streams in order to develop improvement targets
Directs continual improvement team efforts
Facilitates team meetings and kaizen events
Supports and positively drives 5S improvements
Inspires a culture of change and improvement
Preferred
Certifications in Lean Six Sigma yellow, green, black is a plus
Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus
