Engineer Apprentice (Summer)
The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System is seeking an Engineer Apprentice for the summer to gain exposure and experience in the transportation industry from the perspective of state government. The role involves assisting in highway design, construction, and maintenance activities, including working with survey crews and documenting construction activities.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Assisting a survey crew
Assisting with traffic hazard surveys
Documenting daily construction activities and project status
Maintaining highway rights-of-way
Repairing highway safety appurtenances
Repairing roads and bridges
Testing and inspecting construction materials
Verifying that project elements are built according to plans and specifications

Qualification
Required
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Strong scores in subjects involving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
Ability to perform manual labor
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
At least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Sponsorship for an employment visa is not currently available)
