HR & Benefits Operations Specialist

Responsibilities
Support recruiting and pre-hire operational activities, including setup, maintenance, and ongoing administration of background checks; ensure timely resolution of adjudications
Support onboarding activities by monitoring onboarding progress through reports and dashboards; audit and follow up on outstanding tasks as needed to ensure critical new hire requirements are completed within targeted timelines (e.g., I-9 verification, E-Verify)
Administer employee leave and absence programs, including statutory and company-sponsored leaves (such as family, medical, parental, military, and disability-related leaves), ensuring compliance with applicable local laws and company policies
Respond to employee inquiries through the HR ticketing system in accordance with established service level expectations
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs; manage employee benefit changes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and accuracy of payroll deductions
Review, reconcile, and manage benefits vendor invoices to ensure accuracy of eligibility, coverage levels, premium rates, and timely payment processing
Enter, maintain, and audit data in Workday, including correcting and rescinding transactions, creating and maintaining supervisory organizations, and processing worker moves; ensure overall data integrity through routine audits
Support benefits audits, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory filings
Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Handle sensitive employee data with a high degree of confidentiality and in accordance with data privacy and security standards
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources or related field, or related experience
Minimum 4+ years of related experience
Working knowledge of Workday
Working knowledge of HR-related local, state, federal and country regulations
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
