Senior Policy Analyst

Leidos is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to support the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) Office of Defense Programs in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will provide analysis, coordination, and program support to Defense Programs leadership and contribute to Nuclear Weapons Council-related activities and interagency processes.

Responsibilities

Provide program analysis in support of DOE/NNSA Defense Programs activities related to nuclear weapons programs
Support Nuclear Weapons Council-related processes, including preparation of briefings, issue papers, and tracking of action items; oversee meeting logistics
Assist in managing a portfolio of policy and program activities, helping ensure alignment across schedules, priorities, and risk considerations
Research, draft, and review written products such as:
Briefing materials and talking points
Issue papers and decision-support memoranda
Congressional correspondence and responses
Interagency coordination materials
Translate complex technical and programmatic information into clear, well-organized products for senior leaders and external stakeholders
Coordinate with counterparts across NNSA, the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of State, Nuclear Security Council staff, and other interagency organizations
Monitor national security guidance and the strategic environment relevant to the nuclear weapons enterprise and identify emerging issues for senior staff awareness
Support senior leader engagements with Congress and other external stakeholders by preparing background materials and responses

Required

Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 12+ years of work experience, including 7 or more years of experience supporting DOE/NNSA, DoD, or interagency national security programs or a Masters degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of work experience, including 7 or more years of experience supporting DOE/NNSA, DoD, or interagency national security programs
Familiarity with nuclear weapons policy, programs, or governance structures, including Nuclear Weapons Council-related activities
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-tempo environment
