Responsibilities
Perform research, design and development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and methods including production flow and production equipment
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency
Evaluate current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedules
Complete projects related to cost reduction/savings, Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, and Automation Implementation
Serve as participating member for teams during Kaizen events and follow up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvements
Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
Distribute product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel
Assist in developing our equipment database in Maintenance Connect, our CMMS software. This includes adding/updating documentation, drawings, BOM’s, etc
Assist in maximizing the efficient utilization of the parts room and make recommendations on improving processes and organization
Qualification
Required
Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Control, and attention to detail
Strong problem analysis and problem resolution
Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Preferred
Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge preferred
2D and/or 3D CAD knowledge strongly preferred
