Responsibilities
Support new client account onboarding and configure client accounting systems
Manage accounts payable and receivable and day-to-day client/vendor questions
Support month-end accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger
Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue
Manage cost of goods sold, inventory demand planning, and assist clients with ad-hoc pricing/margin analysis
Prepare and assist with tax filings for W2s/1099s and sales tax
Support the Senior team in preparing financial reports and analysis for client leadership and coordinating work with external partners and investors
Model best practices in all areas of the accounting and financial process in accordance with GAAP; collaborating with team members to analyze and streamline processes both internally and externally
Develop client relationships through providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day-to-day communication
Manage retail operational accounting including, issuing invoices, reconciling discounts and chargebacks, collecting deposits and matching accounts receivables
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience (accounting firm auditing, corporate accounting, or general accounting)
Preferred
some start-up experience preferred but not required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or professional certifications (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred but not required
Experience with inventory accounting, preferably within consumer product goods; retail industry experience is a plus
