Training Development Specialist II

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Training Development Specialist II for the Department for Community Based Services. This role involves creating and conducting quality training for early child care professionals, assessing training needs, and ensuring compliance with professional development requirements.

Responsibilities

Create and conduct quality training for early child care professionals. Collaborate with contract agencies to improve available training. Partner with Early Care and Education-TRIS for quality control of training. Partner with the designated entity to ensure Child Care Development Block Fund monies are used appropriately in developing research-based training supporting the ECE field
Assess the training needs and conducts quality training of early care and education providers throughout the state. Research and develop quality training programs to be implemented statewide using expert knowledge and experience in the field
Develop and implement a quality assurance system to monitor trainings to ensure content supports best practices and fulfills all professional development and training requirements of the Child Care Development Block Grant
Collaborate with contract agencies/community partners to ensure Child Care Development Fund monies allocated for professional development and training are used appropriately
Represent the Division in professional development workgroups, committees, and meetings
Other duties as assigned

Required

Have a trainer's credential
Experience in completing needs assessments and developing detailed training plans
Experience in evaluating trainings and training curriculum
Public speaking experience
Experience in partnering with agencies to accomplish a shared objective
Experience in creating trainings and/or curriculum development
Have a familiarity with monitoring contracts
Teaching experience
Customer service and computer skills
Communication and organization skills
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in planning, coordinating, or conducting staff development and training courses, personnel administration or teaching, or professional experience in providing or administering human services or governmental programs
