System Vice President, Cardiac/Heart Care Service Line
Aspirus Health is a nonprofit community-directed health system based in Wausau, Wisconsin, seeking a Vice President for their Cardiac/Heart Care Service Line. The role involves providing strategic leadership and direction for the service line, overseeing operational, financial, and quality components to achieve Aspirus's strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Providing strategic leadership and direction for the system
Overseeing and understanding all relevant dimensions of the services that are included within the defined service line
Understanding market conditions, as well as the operational, financial, and quality components of the service line
Developing a quantifiable methodology for defining and monitoring the key indicators of successful service delivery
Defining, developing, and implementing all necessary structures, relationships, and resources needed to achieve strategic goals
Leading and coordinating a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, clinical, and technical activities to ensure attainment of goals and objectives
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of program development and operations normally acquired through completion of a Master's Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance or related field
Bachelor's degree and 14 years of progressive responsibility and related work experience or Master's degree and 10 years of progressive responsibility and related work experience
Success in building/operating Service Line initiatives is required
Demonstrates knowledge, experience, and skills in Human Relations/Interpersonal Communications – Possesses diplomacy, problem solving, conflict management and resolution, team building, collaboration with disparate parties, and effective oral and written communication skills
Has sufficient analytical acumen to apply to the completion of complex assignments
Has working knowledge of reimbursement principles and regulations, ability to read and comprehend financial reports, and understand and apply financial management principles in the application of cost and profitability management
Possesses organizational and time management skills, self-motivating, anticipatory, understands and can apply fundamental planning principles and concepts
Possesses quality management and process improvement knowledge
Promotes awareness of services promoting a positive image of the service line, participation in volunteer activities in local, state, and national civic and professional organizations
Ability to develop and execute on a strategic plan, and partner in the development and sustainment of goals, vision, and overall direction of the service lines
Ability to provide clear and concise information/presentations to Senior Executive Team
Ability to develop directors and managers. Develop strong team culture
Ability to drive a culture of proactive, integrated, high quality care delivery with a focus on continuous improvement through innovation and transformation
Evaluate current operational and referral trends in partnership with Business Development and Strategy to ensure continuous assessment of market opportunities to be presented to service line and senior leadership
Identify, collect, and analyze data related to the internal and external environment as well as Service Line functioning
Critically and comprehensively evaluate the Service Line's processes, modes of care delivery and outcomes
Ability to mentor senior management, faculty & staff in the principles of process and service transformation
Ability to work comfortably with senior executives as well as faculty and staff who have various levels of education and expertise, understand their work patterns and partner to drive improvement
Ability to quickly learn new tools and theories in process improvement/change management
Leadership skills to motivate cross-departmental performance
Ability to communicate and present in public forums
Ability to make a significant contribution to the organization's overall effectiveness
Commitment to life-long learning and improvement
