Mechanical Design Engineer
Sterling Engineering is seeking experienced Design Engineers to support new automated assembly system projects. This role focuses on executing complex mechanical designs in a fast-paced environment with no project management or leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Design custom automated assembly equipment using SolidWorks (Windchill preferred)
Own designs from initial layout through detailed component development
Independently solve complex mechanical design challenges
Apply advanced engineering principles to non-routine assignments
Participate in design reviews with Project Engineers and implement feedback
Ensure designs meet standards for accuracy, safety, and manufacturability
Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and systems teams
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience in automated assembly system design
Advanced SolidWorks proficiency
Strong mechanical engineering and automation background
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Open to feedback and continuous design improvement
