Associate, Project Engineering

The Associate Engineer will be responsible for providing technical oversight for PV and BESS projects, including developing scope of work documents, reviewing design drawings, and managing the EPC during the design phase of large-scale solar arrays.

Responsibilities
Support lead engineer reviewing the PV, BESS, and HV designs of utility scale projects. This includes close coordination with civil, structural, and electrical Owners & Independent Engineer to ensure a comprehensive design package for Arevon
Assist lead engineer in review of civil, structural, and electrical scope for use Request for Proposal (RFP) package submittals
Review and respond to technical RFI responses throughout the project lifecycle
Manage the EPC during the design phase of large-scale solar arrays including array orientation, tilt, spacing, height, collector system design and performance calculations
Perform due diligence on project documentation, then catalog and communicate fatal flaws to management based on site development studies
Accurately performs and/or manages the review of electrical, civil, and structural design and supporting calculations and studies in accordance with applicable codes
Provide accurate and timely engineering budget estimates for time and costs to sales or management based on available project information, knowledge, and preliminary calculations
Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, such as NESC, ASCE, ASME, ASTM, NEC, ANSI, IEEE
Familiarity with NERC and CIP standards
Able and willing to travel to construction sites
Collaborate with engineering, estimating and construction staff to document and develop company best practices and design standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, required in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines
2-4 years of hands-on experience as an engineer working with solar, BESS, or another related industry required
Electrical testing and field commissioning experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of engineering and renewable energy systems; solar PV systems including SCADA and monitoring systems, and BESS
Knowledge of site production & design calculations, plan preparation; site collector system calculations & report writing
Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD design, ETAP or similar, CYMCAP or similar, PVsyst or similar, WinIGS or similar
Knowledgeable in physical substation design methods and their application
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, MS Windows, and project controls
