Maintenance Technician, Level B

Responsibilities

Follow appropriate equipment/tool repair and maintenance guidelines to assure product quality, availability and freshness according to department standards
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment repair issues and consult with outside vendors or internal team member to ensure problem resolution
Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies
Perform equipment and building preventative maintenance following established schedule
Control downtime by informing production team members of routine preventative maintenance techniques
Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter at all times. Report unsafe work environment to management
Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner

Required

Completion of two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge
Forklift/scissor lift certification (ability to obtain and maintain)
Boiler's license (ability to obtain and maintain special engineering license at a minimum)
Hazwoper certification (ability to obtain and maintain)
Lock out/tag out (LOTO) (ability to obtain and maintain)
Two or more years' experience with packaging and food processing equipment and repairs
Ability to follow all food, personal, safety and sanitation guidelines including hand washing, wearing proper uniform, sanitizing, repairing, maintaining equipment and tools to guard against contamination, and assure all product is safe for consumption
Ability to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, AIB and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
Ability to provide own tools
Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
Ability to weld with MIG, TIG & STICK
Ability to work in confined and high places
Ability to work without supervision
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand instructions, equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints as well as food safety, sanitation and safety procedures
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of equipment and tools in a food manufacturing facility
Electrical troubleshooting ability
Knowledge of facility maintenance and HVAC systems
Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Strong mechanical, electrical and equipment troubleshooting abilities and skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English

Preferred

Experience with CMMS, PM systems and PLC's desired
