Supervisor Hourly Payroll
Performance Contracting Group is a national employee-owned specialty contractor committed to diversity and professional development. They are seeking an experienced Supervisor for their Corporate Hourly Payroll Department to oversee payroll operations, ensure compliance, and manage payroll staff.

Responsibilities
Oversees daily operations of the Payroll Department, including the processing of multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with approved policies and procedures
Implements and maintains processes to ensure all legally required federal, state, and local taxes, Social Security contributions, and other deductions—such as benefit program contributions including PERS—are accurately withheld from employee paychecks
Supervises and provides leadership to a small team of payroll staff, including training, performance management, and workload prioritization
Ensures accurate accounting and reporting of all payroll-related feeds to the Finance Department; performs and oversees payroll reconciliations, audits, and issue resolution in a timely manner
Coordinates daily activities and communication between the Payroll Department and other internal departments in accordance with established priorities and timelines
Provides guidance and information regarding payroll systems, processes, and procedures; escalates high-level or service-related issues as appropriate
Reconciles and completes quarterly and annual federal and state tax reporting, including Forms W-2 and correction reports as required
Maintains current knowledge of applicable payroll rules, regulations, laws, contracts, and policies, and provides interpretation and guidance as needed
Works with government agencies, benefit providers, auditors, and internal staff to resolve payroll-related issues and respond to information requests
Provides backup support to payroll coordinators as needed to ensure continuity of operations
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or higher education in accounting; a degree in an alternate discipline is acceptable in tandem with 10+ years' experience in accounting
5 years plus experience in payroll and accounting for companies with $500MM+ annual revenue
Knowledge of payroll policies, procedures, and federal/state labor compliance laws
Experience processing payroll across multiple locations
Technologically proficient with the ability to navigate diverse applications and software systems—whether integrated or standalone—and effectively transfer, merge, and manage data across platforms to support seamless workflow and operational efficiency
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organization skills; able to efficiently prioritize and multi-task
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at various levels
Self-motivated, improvement-focused, and customer-oriented
Demonstrable adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment
Adherence to the highest standards of safety and quality
Preferred
Supervisory experience is a plus
Knowledge of union trust fund payments and practices
Knowledge of construction industry operations
Experience with Dayforce Payroll or AXIS accounting system is a plus
