This foundational backend engineering role involves designing and building core backend services, owning ledgering systems, and contributing to architectural decisions as the platform scales.

Responsibilities

Designing and building core backend services supporting lending, payments, and account state
Owning and evolving ledgering systems that track balances, interest accrual, and obligations with strict correctness guarantees
Architecting event-driven systems and orchestration workflows across asynchronous services
Building idempotent APIs, background jobs, and consumers that safely handle retries and partial failures
Operating services end-to-end: deployment, monitoring, debugging, and reliability improvements
Partnering with product and business stakeholders to translate financial requirements into robust technical systems
Contributing to architectural decisions as the platform grows and regulatory requirements evolve

Required

5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in fintech, payments, or financial platforms

Experience designing distributed systems with an emphasis on correctness, observability, and resilience
Proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js or similar backend languages
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and operating production systems
A strong sense of ownership and ability to operate in fast-moving, high-impact environments
