Chief Financial Officer

Midwest Loan Services is seeking a Chief Financial Officer responsible for the corporation’s financial and accounting systems. The role involves developing financial strategies, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with regulations while leading the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities

Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic direction
Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and system enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion
Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans
Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities, maintaining relationships with the investment community
Report financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements
Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX 404; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Achieve corporate risk financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing, and completing action plans
Meets corporate risk financial objectives by forecasting requirements
Assists the Bank’s Audit Committee by providing management oversight of the Internal Audit Coordinator and working with the external firms engaged to perform Internal Audits to assure: the approved Audit Schedule stays on track, managers are engaged in the audit process, internal control weaknesses are addressed timely, and corrective actions are validated
Updates corporate risk job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
Completes all required training in timely manner
All other duties as assigned by University Bank President & Board of Directors

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting required
Mortgage Accounting experience required
Management/leadership experience required
10+ years of related experience required
Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners
Complete all assigned training in a timely manner
Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression
Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills
Superior communication (written/verbal) and negotiation skills
Able to manage conflict and balance multiple competing priorities
Recommends and/or establishes major policies for the department
