Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly reinsurance accruals
Reconcile and distribute reinsured premium payables
Perform manual calculations for reinsurance programs not maintained within reinsurance systems
Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly reports, including settlement statements and other required documentation
Analyze financial results and provide insights or explanations as needed
Conduct reconciliations for key reinsurance accounts
Investigate and resolve discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments and external partners
Support internal and external audits during quarterly and annual review cycles
Serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders regarding reinsured premium activity
Assist with statutory and GAAP financial reporting requirements
Participate in cross‑training within the team to support group development
Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts involving manual processes
Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and handling large data sets
High attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong sense of urgency
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Familiarity with GAAP and Statutory reporting, general ledgers, accounting systems, and operational accounting workflows
Preferred
CPA or equivalent certification
Experience with SAP, SQL, Power Query, or Power BI
Insurance or reinsurance industry experience
