Responsibilities
Contribute to the long-term goal and strategy for semantic search in AlloyDB
Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration within the team
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across different product areas and geographic locations, as well as directly with customers, to understand their needs and build the semantic search experiences
Lead complex technical projects from inception to deployment in a fast-moving, innovative environment
Design, develop, and deliver critical semantic search capabilities within AlloyDB, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for our customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience programming in C++
7 years of experience in technical leadership, with a focus on delivering system-level software including in databases, operating systems, or kernels
5 years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases
3 years of experience with software design and architecture
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects
Familiarity with database internals, operating systems, file systems, and cloud platforms
