Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design activities in Creo, generating 3 D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs in Windchill
Conduct trade studies that evaluate cost, weight, structural integrity, and thermal performance
Coordinate fabrication with machine shops and external suppliers, overseeing tooling, fixtures, and build plans
Develop and execute mechanical Environmental Design Verification Tests (DVT) for energetics and live ordnance hardware
Create designs using a variety of non standard materials—including metals, composites, and additive manufactured parts—tailored for SRM applications
Calculate total product margins (TPMs), identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Support cross functional IPT meetings, providing status updates and technical insight
Maintain configuration control and documentation compliance throughout the product lifecycle

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access
The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance
You are a creative, hands on mechanical engineer who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment
Whether you bring direct SRM experience or a strong desire to master it, you'll be empowered to innovate with cutting edge materials and testing methods
A proven track record in defense or aerospace mechanical design
A passion for problem solving
The drive to see concepts through from sketch to launch
Preferred
Experience with solid rocket motors
Processing engineering to release using Model Based Design (MBD)
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and/or Design for Affordability (DFA)
Understanding the processes surrounding ordnance handling /shipping and test
