Responsibilities
Manage commercial claims to verify coverage, conduct investigations, analyze liability and damages, and develop resolution strategies
Communicate with insureds, adversaries and outside counsel
Effectively manage counsel and work with experts in support of insureds defense
Ability to establish case reserves
Prepare reports on potential exposure for company management
Negotiate settlements efficiently within authority limits
Ensure all claims are managed in accordance with claims department service standards
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of relevant claims experience handling primary and excess casualty claims
Holds and maintains necessary adjuster licenses in states where required
Ability to analyze insurance policies, contracts, legal filings, court opinions, etc., and apply them to the underlying facts of the claim file
Superior analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication, negotiation and investigation skills
