Placer County is currently recruiting for the position of Engineering Manager in the Tahoe Engineering Division. This leadership role involves managing an engineering team dedicated to delivering critical projects related to stormwater, environmental, recreation, infrastructure, and transportation in the Tahoe area.

Responsibilities

Managing an engineering team dedicated to delivering important stormwater, environmental, recreation, infrastructure, and transportation projects in the Tahoe area
Fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with multiple Tahoe area regional partners, agencies, community groups, business owners, residents, and interested parties, as well as multiple County departments and divisions
Designing, permitting, and delivering various improvement projects from traditional roadway operational improvements to recreational infrastructure including multimodal pedestrian and bicycle path facilities and transit facilities
Obtaining and utilizing a variety of federal, state, and local funding sources to plan, design, and construct improvement projects

Qualification

Professional Engineer LicenseCivil Engineering DegreeStormwater ManagementInfrastructure ProjectsCommunication Skills

Required

Five years of increasingly responsible experience as a registered professional engineer in the required specialty field, including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field
Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in an appropriate discipline as issued by the State of California
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required

Preferred

Experience in a diversity of fields including stormwater, environmental, recreation, infrastructure, and transportation through designing, permitting, and delivering various improvement projects
Previous experience in obtaining and utilizing a variety of federal, state, and local funding sources to plan, design, and construct improvement projects
