Responsibilities

Design and Develop Vision Systems: Build robust machine vision solutions for object detection, classification, and anomaly detection in rail environments
Camera and Hardware Selection Expertise:
Select appropriate cameras (sensor type, resolution, shutter type) for industrial and outdoor conditions
Choose lenses based on focal length, depth of field, and distortion control
Configure hardware for optimal distance to object, angle of view, and mounting stability
Lighting Design:
Implement lighting strategies (front, back, diffuse, structured) for consistent image quality
Account for environmental factors like glare, shadows, and color temperature
Algorithm Development: Implement and optimize computer vision algorithms using deep frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV)
Open-Source Vision Tools: Utilize and customize frameworks such as YOLO, Detectron2, and MMDetection for object detection and segmentation
Model Lifecycle Management:
Base Model Selection: Choose and fine-tune pre-trained models for rail-specific use cases
Automated Training Pipelines: Build pipelines for continuous model training, validation, and deployment
Performance Monitoring: Implement automated evaluation and retraining based on accuracy and drift detection
Annotation Frameworks: Work with tools like LabelImg, CVAT, or Roboflow to build and maintain high-quality datasets
Performance Optimization: Ensure real-time processing capabilities for high-volume image streams in distributed environments
Operational Reliability: Implement monitoring and diagnostics for deployed vision systems to ensure uptime and accuracy

Required

Experience: 8+ years in computer vision and machine learning engineering
Strong proficiency in Python, C++, and vision libraries (OpenCV, scikit-image)
Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for vision tasks
Hands-on experience with YOLO, Detectron2, and other open-source vision models
Knowledge of camera hardware, lighting, and environmental considerations for outdoor/industrial deployments
Familiarity with model orchestration tools and automated ML pipelines
Experience with CI/CD, model lifecycle management, and performance tuning for real-time applications

Preferred

Experience with industrial vision systems and robotics integration
Knowledge of 3D vision, LiDAR, and sensor fusion
Familiarity with cloud-based ML pipelines and distributed inference
