Understanding how government works and how it impacts the clients of Nelson Mullins is a key service that the Washington office provides
Representing clients around the country and the world, the firm and its Washington presence enhance our reputation as a full-service law firm
Candidates are asked to submit a cover letter, resume, and a copy of their law school transcript
Qualification
Required
One to three years of meaningful experience in communications law and data privacy law
Experience advising on communications and consumer protection/privacy regulatory matters
Exposure to transactional, litigation, and/or enforcement matters
Experience working on matters involving emerging technologies, digital platforms, broadband, telecommunications, advertising and/or data-driven products and services
Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, or eligibility and willingness to obtain admission
Preferred
Experience with federal and state privacy laws, children's privacy laws, the GDPR, and related data protection regimes
Familiarity with regulatory compliance programs, investigations, and government enforcement
IAPP certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT)
