Civil Engineer PE

Responsibilities

Preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment
Use site visits, reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of our facilities
Implement site safety activity plans and coordinate field work activities
Take full ownership of civil permitting processes, working directly with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and environmental consultants
Ensure project compliance with federal, state, and local zoning, land use, and environmental regulations
Conduct civil engineering risk assessments, ensuring mitigation measures are in place for hydrology, land grading, and flood zone constraints
Collaborate with EPC project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to refine site development strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or similar discipline
8+ years of industry experience
EPC project experience
Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs
Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members
Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications
Ability to travel

Preferred

Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc)
Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints
Experience developing custom details to support unique facility design conditions
Experience on large scale, mission critical construction projects
Experience with construction and cost estimating processes
Construction administration experience including site observation, review of RFIs and Submittals
Experience with local/state code compliance
