Responsibilities

Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension by creating high-quality documentation, guides, manuals, and tutorials
Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
Brainstorm with the development team to figure out how to simplify technical information for end-users by determining the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension
Review, proofread and/or edit content developed by other members of the Technical Publications team
Collaborate with the technical writing, field service, and engineering teams to craft accurate documentation in conjunction with requirements and specifications
Acquire working knowledge of Blue Bird Product lines and related service requirements by learning about the technical documentation and concepts adopted by our company
Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in English, communication, business administration or technical writing
4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Fluency in technical and common office software
Ability to pay attention to details
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy
Automotive technical acumen or high interest in acquiring
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in Adobe InDesign

Preferred

Ability to anticipate and understand customer needs and provide guidance
Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills to handle difficult and sensitive matters
Strong project management skills. Exposure to difficult or complex projects a plus
Ability to influence stakeholders
Effective communication and ability to communicate complex details in a clear manner
