Responsibilities

Understand business requirements to provide the technical design of computer software
Possess programming expertise in one of Delta standard programming languages to develop and maintain computer software
Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards
Support and troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems, including on-call support
Follow Delta standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software
May perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field
Must have 5 years of TPF application experience
Must be able to code proficiently in BAL, Sabretalk and C++
Must be able to understand and code using TPFDF database structures
Working experience and knowledge of TPFDF, z/TPFGI, and TPF Dump Analysis
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

Previous airline experience ideal
Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus
Working knowledge of z/TPF REST Support, DFDL, Business Events, and Swagger development an added plus
Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level

Knowledge of Software Development - Involves knowing the general approach to developing software including practice, concepts, technology, and methodology obtained through formal training and/or work experience
Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, is excellent at honest analysis, looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answer
Programming Ability - Ability to effectively write code (e.g., in one or more languages) to develop effective and efficient solutions to computing needs
Solution Oriented - Maintains a positive attitude oriented towards coming up with solutions and developing new approaches, doesn't let distractions get in the way, isn't overwhelmed with problems/ issues
