Solar Project Manager (Technical)
RE-volv is a leading clean energy access nonprofit that develops and finances solar plus storage projects for community-based nonprofit organizations across the country. They are seeking a Solar Project Manager to coordinate sales, finance, operations, and project management for nonprofit solar installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet client expectations.

Responsibilities
Proposal Generation & Technical Vetting (40%) • Bid and Contract Review: Review installer quotes to ensure equipment is Tier 1, production estimates are accurate, and costs are appropriate. Compare bids to identify the best installers and proposals for our nonprofit clients. Ensure accurate contract details and timely execution of installer and financing agreements
Incentive Optimization: Ensure proposals are accurately leveraging available incentives such as the ITC, RECs and any local government or utility programs. Outline project requirements to ensure successful monetization of incentives
ETB Modeling: Create and refine customized customer-facing solar and storage proposals using Energy Toolbase (ETB). Ensure utility rates, export values, and savings projections are accurate. Create custom ETB transactions and update proposal templates as needed
Approved Lists: Create and maintain RE-volv’s Approved Vendor and Equipment lists, ensuring we only work with vetted partners and top-tier equipment. Support outreach to new installers and vet them to ensure they meet our quality standards
Salesforce Data: Ensure real-time accuracy of project data in Salesforce. You will be responsible for logging bid details, updating proposal versions, and maintaining clean data
Project Management & Construction Oversight (50%) • Remote Construction Management: Work with the Director of Solar Operations to oversee solar and storage installations. You will track project milestones and collect required documentation (photos, permits, lien releases), support payment disbursements, and ensure the project schedule is met. Act as the primary point of contact for installers during the build phase
Pipeline Velocity: Proactively manage project stages in Salesforce. Identify potential delays and work with installers and AHJs to troubleshoot, ensuring timely installations
Documentation: Ensure all project files, from contracts to plan sets, are correctly organized and stored
Compliance & Operations Support (10%) • FEOC/PFE & Policy: Stay informed on industry requirements, specifically Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) and Prohibited Foreign Entity (PFE) rules, to ensure our equipment procurement remains compliant for tax credit purposes
Safe Harbor: Support the solar team in tracking and documenting equipment for Safe Harbor provisions to maximize tax benefits
Process Improvement: Assist the solar team in refining checklists and workflows to make our sales, vetting, and construction processes more streamlined and efficient
Qualification
Required
4–6 years of relevant experience in the solar and storage industry (Project Management, Sales Engineering, or Solar Operations)
Proficiency in Energy Toolbase (ETB) is required
Understanding of small commercial solar, storage, and microgrid systems (30kW to 500kW+), including sizing, design, equipment specs, and construction management and best practices
Proven track record of managing a national network of third-party installers, including construction oversight across multiple states and remote Quality Assurance (QA)
Demonstrated track record providing technical analysis of solar contracts and solar plan sets
Technical experience overseeing microgrid construction and sizing systems for resilience hub purposes
Experience managing multiple external stakeholders and timelines
Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRMs is required

Relational skills: You are comfortable communicating technical ideas to non-technical audiences including our customers and partners. You are able to build strong working relationships with installation partners
Clear and Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to hold installers accountable to schedules and navigate difficult conversations without compromising professional relationships
Team-Player Mentality: Willingness to support ad-hoc tasks and assist colleagues across departments to support our nonprofit mission
Preferred
Experience with energy audits, energy efficiency upgrades, building decarbonization, heat pumps, and EV charging infrastructure
