Inpatient Pharmacy Intern - Hillcrest - 138208

The Intern Pharmacist will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health System and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, performing a full range of duties under direct supervision of a Pharmacist.

Responsibilities
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures; assist in the distribution of medications; performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintain inventory levels; and perform other duties as assigned
Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas
Qualification
Required
Intern Pharmacist License with the California State Board of Pharmacy
Current UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy student
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service and counseling skills, ability to operate computer systems; demonstrated teaching skills and writing skills, which can be applied to article publication in hospital newsletter and professional journal
Preferred
Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy
Part-time or full-time work experiences in pharmacy
