Responsibilities
Prescription Fulfillment: Pick and fill medications in accordance with pharmacy practice guidelines and medication safety standards
Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensure product availability
Patient Chart Management: Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records and prescription data
Pharmacist Support: Partner with pharmacists to address medication-related inquiries and support patient care initiatives
Medication Packing & Delivery Coordination: Pack medications according to standard procedures and coordinate deliveries, including obtaining refill authorizations from physician offices
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall patient experience
Workstation Management: Manage assigned pharmacy tasks and workstations to promptly, safely, and accurately complete prescription orders
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to pharmacy laws and regulations governing technician responsibilities, and follow all company policies
Performance Tracking: Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) established by leadership to ensure operational and quality benchmarks are achieved
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry best practices, technology tools, and pharmacy trends to maintain a high standard of performance
Qualification
Required
Active, clear, and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in your state of residence
Solid understanding of pharmacy laws and technician-specific regulations
Strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality
Proficiency in pharmacy technology systems and willingness to learn new tools
Ability to stand for long periods, work at a computer for extended durations, and lift up to 25 lbs
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and patient support
Preferred
1+ year of experience as a pharmacy technician
1+ year of retail pharmacy experience in a high-volume setting
