Responsibilities
Own opto-mechanical test method development for new projects
Design and build test fixtures (manual and automated), instrumentation setups, and measurement routines; drive automation where it improves repeatability and efficiency
Plan and execute design verification and reliability studies; analyze results, perform root-cause, and recommend improvements
Partner with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems, Regulatory, and Program Management to align on requirements and risk-based test strategies
Author protocols, reports, and traceability documentation; present technical findings clearly to stakeholders
Mentor junior engineers and help scale lab capabilities across optical and mechanical domains
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (B.S.), Mechanical/Mechatronics, Optical/Photonics, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline
2+ years of related experience
Experience in developing new test methodologies and related fixtures, jigs, and/or automations
Experience in technical writing for regulated environments
Demonstrated problem solving skills in mechanical and/or optics
Preferred
Test engineering experience in a regulated industry
Experience with CAD: preferably Creo and/or SolidWorks
Proficiency in analyzing data using statistical methods
